Deleting Browser History
You may want to clear your browsing history if web programs or webpages are not working or appearing correctly, your browser is slower than usual, or for privacy. Consistent images or tracking cookies on websites such as logos or usually save or cache in your browser to save you time loading pages, but having too many cached files in your browser can slow it down overall. To remove the history in your browser please follow the directions below.
Keyboard Shortcut
The fastest method to delete the browser history in any browser on a Windows device is the keyboard shortcut.
- Open an internet browser.
- Hold the keys CTRL Shift and Delete on your keyboard. The clear browsing history window appears.
- Select desired time range.
- Check desired boxes (suggested Browsing history and Cached images and files).
- Click clear data button. The browser history is deleted.
Manual Directions
These directions are for Google Chrome. This process is very similar in all browsers and can be generally followed in other browsers.
- Open a browser.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
- Click History > History. The History window appears.
- Click "Clear browsing data". The Clear browsing data popup window appears.
- Select "Time range" "All time".
- Check desired boxes (suggested Browsing history and Cached images and files).
- Click "Clear data" button. The browser history is deleted.
